Chesapeake Employers' Insurance Company is Hiring a Safety Services Trainer Near Towson, MD

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Safety Services Trainer will be a subject matter expert in the creation and presentation of all levels of training to customers on occupational safety and health topics. This role will also assist with customer outreach activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Assist in the creation of virtual and in-person occupational safety and health training for customers.

 Perform quality control of presentations and other safety materials.

 Identifies injury trends and works with a team to develop training and outreach to targeted customers.

 Provide nationally recognized training programs in 1st Aid/CPR/AED and OSHA 10 hour and OSHA 30 hour at our home office and remote locations.

 Facilitates engaging classes on various occupational safety and health topics in both virtual and non-virtual settings.

 Assist with overall execution of all trainings.

 Work with a team on all aspects of training events. May include assisting with set up, break down, escorting customers through security and around building upon entry/exit.

 Strong collaboration with all members of the Safety Services and other operational teams to assist with training needs of customers.

 Strong collaboration across internal departments to increase training attendance.

 Actively supports company strategies and departmental goals.

 Participates in special projects and other duties, as needed.

 Supports the company strategies and department goals by accomplishing tasks as assigned.

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in health and safety, risk management, or safety consultation.

 Minimum 5-7 years of experience in occupational health and safety consultation, with training experience. Experience in construction preferred.

 Professional certification within safety or insurance field preferred. For example:

o Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

o Associate in Risk Management (ARM)

o Workers’ Compensation Professional (WCP)

o Chartered Property and Causality Underwriter (CPCU)

 Demonstrates specific technical/industry expertise through knowledge, education, or application.

 Certified as a trainer in First Aid, CPR, and AED, or able to become certified within 90 days of employment.

 Certified as an OSHA General Industry Outreach Trainer or OSHA Certified Construction Outreach Trainer, or the ability become certified as an Outreach Trainer with 120 days of employment.

 Advanced knowledge and ability to interpret health and safety issues and standards/guidelines such as OSHA, NFPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, etc.

 Excellent computer skills and proven ability to quickly learn and navigate new technology and applications.

 Ability to explain concepts in an easy-to-understand manner and effortlessly engage an audience.

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 Highly self-motivated, organized, self-directed, and attentive to detail.

 Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

 Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

 Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Physical condition may require use of respiratory equipment. The employee may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required, which includes close vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is generally within an office environment but may include visits to policyholders to evaluate worksites and provide training at offsite locations. Limited exposure to chemicals, noise, and dust.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $72,810.00 - $91,010.00 per year
