Summary:

This position will collaborate and support both the Processing and Support teams. This position has the potential to work on any projects and/or software updates involving the functions utilized with the department.

The work hours for this position are normally Monday through Friday from 8:30a.m. to 5:00p.m. with a rotation week of 10:00am to 6:30pm (usually about one five-day week per month) and these hours may be adjusted as needed by the supervisor.

Responsibilities:
  • Follow established policies, procedures, and guidelines to protect both our customers and Chesapeake Bank.
  • Responsible for professional growth through training and available resources to better operate and support this role and understand how its functions impact the department, the bank, and its customers.
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and other communication to assist and help resolve problems with excellent customer service and composure.
  • Understand this role as defined by the three lines of defense to maintain a compliance culture that includes risk management processes.
  • Perform 4Sight Start of Day, to include monitoring and hosting files to the core throughout the day
  • Perform amount entry and balancing functions of branch transactions.
  • Process and monitor check fraud affidavits, check adjustments, & cash items to and from the Federal Reserve.
  • Scheduling Core system End of Day and related daily functions
  • Perform data entry and customer file maintenance for all account types.
  • Debit Card Processing includes new card orders and expiring card replacements.
  • Process unposted DDA items, including working internal NSFs and internal cash items.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Review documentation sent for new/updated accounts for accuracy and scan to Synergy daily
  • Responsible for tracking/follow-up of new accounts missing documentation & CIP requirements for all account types, including checking, savings, CDs, Safe Deposit Boxes, and IRAs
  • Daily review of all account-level and customer-level maintenance to core, parameter changes, & rate changes
  • Daily review of new Stop Payments and Reg. CC holds for proper documentation and keying accuracy
  • Review alerts and activity on dormant accounts daily
  • Reviewing/tracking for proper documentation on Alien Customers monthly
  • Review NOW accounts for compliance with Reg. D monthly
  • Review Fraud Alerts on Debit Card transactions
  • Handling of Federal Verification Requests from SSA/SSI as well as from local agencies
  • Print CD Checks and CD reconcilement
  • Process garnishments, levies & liens
  • Print checks, notices, and forward mail
  • Send Federal Withholding to the IRS
  • TIN Matching to the IRS
  • Perform department self-audits
  • Statement processing (PrintMail)
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years in banking experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and meet established guidelines
  • Ability to work effectively with others as a team player to meet a common goal
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks and priorities accurately and efficiently, with focus on details
  • Good analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to perform basic accounting & balancing
  • Proficient verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with exceptional telephone & email etiquette
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly email and spreadsheets software, which over time can become a proficiency
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, and to operate computers and other equipment
