Cherry Dental is Hiring a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) Near Hamden, CT

We are looking for an enthusiastic certified dental assistant with strong work ethics, excellent communication and patient care skills to join our team! An assistant who will be willing to go above and beyond to ensure that our patients receive the best care with compassion and efficiency. You will be responsible for general clinic administrative work, assisting, maintenance, as well as completing lab work under the direction of the dentist. As the dental assistant, you should be well-organized with great attention to detail, eager to take on daily clinical tasks on your own and when given and be open to new learning experiences as our office is expanding in using some of the newest technology in dentistry. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. If you would like to work in a place where it feels like your second home and can be proud of the service you provide for our patients, then this is the place for you!

Responsibilities

  • Introduce and welcome patients into the operatory room.
  • Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
  • Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
  • Take and process x-rays of patients as needed
  • Knowledge in being able to read x-rays
  • Clean and sterilize instruments according to regulations
  • Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
  • Schedule appointments
  • Update and maintain accurate patient records
  • iTero scanning (Preferred but not required)
  • Other tasks as necessary or given by doctor

Skills

  • Proven experience as dental assistant
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Well-organized and reliable **
  • High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
  • Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)

Experience:
2 years of experience preferred

Experience with Open Dental

Must have DANB Radiology and Infection Control Certification

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
