Job Title: Multi-Craft Helper
Department: Operations
Reports To: Multi-Craft Foreman/General Superintendent/Project Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary:At Cherokee Millwright, we are a multi-craft company that focuses on the needs of our customers by providing multi-trades personnel to meet the customer’s unique job requests. Therefore, all field employees will be cross-trained in various trades such as millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, civil, etc. The focus of this position will be responsible for assisting all employees by performing various tasks such as cleaning work areas, unloading materials, preparing jobsites, retrieving tools, and cleaning debris. However, it will not be entirely set to this specific skillset.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. - Job site preparation.
- Job site clean-up.
- Assist with material loading, unloading, gathering, and distributing.
- Assisting with installations, laying out tools and performing several other basic tasks.
- Follow general laboring directions from site leader and/or foreman.
- Assist craftworkers with their duties by performing basic needs.
- Additional skills in other crafts will be necessary to meet our customers need and will be expected in this role.
- Construction or manufacturing experience highly desired but not required.
- High School diploma or GED required.
