Busy cemetery is seeking a sales oriented professional with a desire to serve client families by making at-need cemetery arrangements and selling pre-need arrangements. The Family Service Counselor serves families by providing exemplary personalized service while generating revenue for the cemetery as well as acting as the primary contact for families.
Duties:
- Respond to client inquiries in a timely, respectful, sensitive and professional manner
- Connect with families through listening, honest communication and genuine concern
- Develop an understanding of each family's unique needs and offers solutions that provide value to them
- Stay in touch with families to ensure satisfaction
- Perform all procedures with professionalism and attention to detail
- Follow through on all customer problems and requests
- Educate families on the benefits of pre-planning
- Collaborate with other members of the funeral home staff to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment

- Ability to work a number of evenings and or weekends every month
- Ability to drive frequently
- Ability to obtain and maintain an insurance license in the state of California

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in counseling or related field preferred)
- Previous experience in a similar role is a plus
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a rigorous background check with the Department of Justice and must be able to obtain both a California Cemetery salespersons license and a State of California Insurance license.
