Russian Linguist

This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance, with the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph (CI Poly). 

Cherokee Preting is seeking exceptionally qualified candidates to serve as Russian Linguists to support the Defense Intelligence Agency’s office of Counterintelligence. Individuals serving in the Linguistics/Interpretation Support position will be responsible for providing written and oral translations of text, video, and audio materials in recorded and digital formats and/or during real-time events of both foreign language to English and English to foreign language.

Russian Linguist Responsibilities Include: 

• Provide written translations of provided documents or material.
• Provide advice on regional and cultural issues related to the geographic area of the target language.
• Use of standard Microsoft Office Products
• Provide quality control of the translations of others.
• Update related knowledge management tools.
• Use appropriate formats to produce required content. 
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Russian Linguist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 

• Ability to meet the Russian Defense Language Proficiency Test standard of (3/3) or native proficiency as determined by the International Language Roundtable Test with a score of 3-4 in speaking, reading, writing, and listening.
• Ability to achieve advanced working proficiency (ILRT level 3) in English.
• Ability to provide cultural and linguistic understanding to government and contract team personnel to enhance knowledge of foreign populations, customs, cultures, histories, etc.
• Ability to draft and publish intelligence reports in multiple formats along with associated enclosures according to government reporting and formatting standards. 
• Preferred to have strong Open Source (OSINT) and Publicly Available Information (PAI) analysis experience. 
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
