Cherokee Federal is Hiring an Environmental Technician Near Wilmington, NC

Environmental Technician

CSS is seeking a full-time SCA Environmental Technician to support our environmental team serving NAVFAC.

This work involves environmental compliance tasks for the federal government to include Operations and Maintenance of petroleum groundwater remediation systems, field sampling (soil, groundwater, soil gas), indoor air monitoring, and other compliance tasks.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Environmental Technician: $22 - $25/hour.

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Environmental Technician Responsibilities Include:

  • Operations and Maintenance of petroleum groundwater remediation systems.
  • Field sampling of soil, groundwater, and soil gas/air.
  • Performs other environmental compliance duties as assigned.

Environmental Technician Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in geology, engineering, environmental science, or equivalent degree.
  • Onsite work at MCB Camp Lejeune with travel to various Marine Corps Installations East facilities, at least 50% of time.
  • Mechanical, electrical, or plumbing experience.
  • Experience working at Marine Corps installations.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and effectively manage time and project resources.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, other applicable databases, and office automation products, to include Adobe Pro.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally in writing (to include technical documentation). Must have excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work in a remote environment under a variety of weather conditions as needed.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
