Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Environmental Scientist: $65,000 - $85,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Environmental Scientist Responsibilities Include: 

  • Provide support to environmental compliance projects in the areas of field sampling and visual inspections, assessment of hazardous waste and materials, and writing related reports and technical memorandums for government clients.
  • Provide support to environmental remediation projects in the areas of field sampling, assessment of site conditions, and writing related reports for government clients.
  • Development of spatial data from remotely sensed data (e.g., satellite imagery, elevation data, and aerial photography). 
  • Develop project management plans, sampling and analysis plans, waste management plans, procurement of materials and supplies for field investigations, coordinate and schedule field activities, support preparation of health and safety plans and other related documentation as required by the project.
  • Maintain adequate documentation on all activities.
  • Write technical reports and memorandums for all types of projects.
  • Document the status and timekeeping of all projects and products in project tracking database as per established procedure.
  • Document technical and procedural methodologies for creating and maintaining datasets and performing analyses.
  • Participate in meetings when needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Environmental Scientist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or Biology.
  • At least 3-4 years of experience working in the environmental consulting field.
  • Basic knowledge of the following:
    • Field sampling and visual Inspections.
    • Environmental compliance
    • Environmental remediation.
    • Technical plan and report writing.
    • Process data from a variety of sources and integrate with GIS data to meet team needs.
    • Knowledge of GIS or CADD services using mapping and other related tools.
    • Ensures compliance with relevant data standards, policies and regulations.
    • Resolve technical issues.
    • Data management.
    • Map production.
    • Figure and table preparation.
    • Willing and able to travel to project locations, attend client meetings.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
