AI/ML Project Manager

This position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance to be considered. 

Provide for the daily execution and maintenance for Gen AI efforts for Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). Develop project plans and schedules designed to create Gen AI capabilities. Track and manage resources, provide status updates to Cherokee leadership and the customer. Provide coordination of meetings, preparing budget drills, developing agenda items, attending high-level meetings, generating minutes, and tracking action items. Additionally, the contractor shall utilize their understanding with of data science, data management, and AI to recommend and implement use cases for Gen AI at DLA.

• Estimated Starting Salary Range for AI/ML Project Manager: Pay commensurate with experience.

AI/ML Project Manager Responsibilities Include: 

• Provides for and complete project deliverables and submit reports to the customer.
• Assists program leadership with status reports, white papers, weekly activity report, and other ad hoc requirements as necessary.
• Oversees the execution of tasks required for the project.
• Identifies physical attributes and policies that will impact labor, material, and schedule requirements.
• Supports tracking of activities.
• Participates in meetings / teleconferences with stakeholders.
• Participates in scheduling and resource balancing planning activities.
• Provides input, maintain, and champion lessons learned.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

AI/ML Project Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 

• BS degree in Engineering, Physics, Physical Sciences, Information Security, Mathematics, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or Business 
• 5 years of direct work experience with data science. Eight (8) years of project management work experience.
• Advanced analytical skill in solving complex technical, administrative, and managerial problems.
• Working knowledge of researching and writing white papers.
• Working knowledge of major activities within the Gen AI lifecycle.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) enabling precise conveyance of information across all customer sections and proper enunciation of the English language.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking/problem solving skills.
• Ability to organize and assign responsibilities to subordinates and oversee the successful completion of all tasks.
• Ability to direct lower-level personnel and ensure capacity planning for most efficient execution.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in overseeing teams.
• Ability to establish and maintain technical and financial reports.
• Ability to maintain customer contacts to ensure conformity to all contractual obligations.
• Ability to be flexible, dependable, and multi-task with evolving priorities.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Able to obtain, a Secret clearance required for this position.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
