Chronos Operations (CO) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Chenega. Corporation, an Alaska Native Corporation based in Anchorage, AK. Belonging to the Military, Intelligence, and Operations Support (MIOS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU), Chronos has a culture rooted in integrity, respect, and exceptional performance. Chronos is headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO, and provides mission-critical services in Advanced Analytics & AI, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Intelligence.

The Social Media Specialist shall provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the Public Affairs Office. 

Work you’ll do

  • Be responsible for the tactical and strategic development web site content management and of social media engagement on behalf of NAVFAC Pacific Command and in support of the Public Affairs organizations.
  • Initiate, develop, and manage accurate and influential communication of NAVFAC Pacific Command strategic communication programs, policies, issues, and activities, for both internal and external populace.
  • Advise leadership, staff, and tenant units in the use of websites and social media.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of all aspects of public affairs, including internal and external information, social media, strategic planning, and community relations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 

 

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree required
    • 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, like Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design may be used instead of a degree
  • 1 years of specialized experience, including experience planning for and managing public affairs communications via official social media platforms required
  • Experience as a Public Affairs Officer at any Department of Defense organization is desirable but not required.
  • Background check required.

  • Skilled in Communications and Media.
  • Experience with Public Affairs Policies and Procedures is desirable but not required.
  • Skilled in various current technology.
  • Advanced skills in problem-solving.
  • Good work ethic and active desire to learn.
  • Skillful time management and organizational skills to set and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment to encourage collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to meet minimum clearance requirements.
