Qualified Candidates MUST meet the following requirements on or before the last date for filing an application for this examination:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma EITHER:
(A) Two years office clerical experience at least six months of which included responsibility for typing; OR
(B) Possession of an Associate’s Degree in Information Processing, Office Technology or a closely related field; OR
(C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.

Note: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Following appointment to this position incumbents will be required to satisfactorily complete the New York State Sheriffs’ Association’s Basic Civil School.

2. When required to notarize affidavits of service and other documents, incumbents will be required to become licensed as a Notary Public in New York State.
