Chelmsford Public Schools - Announcement of Teaching Vacancies for the 2024- 2025 School YearThe Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. Position: Occupational TherapistLocation: Chelmsford Public Schools General Description: The Occupational Therapist position is a districtwide position however this opening is anticipated to services students at the elementary level. As a collaborative member of the Special Education team in Chelmsford and in accordance with the policies and procedures of Chelmsford Public Schools, the Occupational Therapist (OT) will provide direct service to students both in and out of the general education classroom and sub-separate settings. The OT will consult with special education and general education teachers. The OT will administer evaluations/assessments, and helps to develop IEPs by writing goals, objectives, and accommodations. This specialist will maintain required documentation for Medicaid reimbursement and legal compliance. The OT also will provide consultation to parents, teachers, and related staff, and will participate in staff development activities. The successful candidate will have the ability to understand and appropriately apply the latest research in neurophysiology relating to neurodevelopmental and sensorimotor dysfunction to school age populations is imperative.Qualifications:Registered Occupational Therapist in the state of MassachusettsMinimum of a Master's Degree in Occupational TherapyReports to: Director of Student ServicesResponsibilities:- Provide direct and consultation services using both push in and pull out models - Develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and treatment plans that address fine and visual motor, and sensory integration needs - Support teachers in developing and implementing supports and providing fine and visual motor accommodations - Participate in IEP and 504 meetings, as well as attend student support team meetings - Work in conjunction with multidisciplinary educational teams - Complete needed paper work and job related functions in a timely manner and in compliance with special education regulations - Gather, collate, and/or classify data; generate reports and present findings at meetings - Utilize a variety of job-related assistive technology - Routinely attend district and school-wide meetings, trainings and professional development - Maintain compliance with existing laws and professional ethics - Other duties as requested by the Director of Student Services or School Principal
