Warehouse Supervisor - Inventory Control and Receiving

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Warehouse Supervisor to join our team and oversee the inventory control and receiving operations within our warehouse facility. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in inventory management, strong leadership skills, and a keen eye for maintaining accuracy in receiving processes. The Warehouse Supervisor will play a crucial role in optimizing inventory processes, ensuring timely and accurate receipt of goods, and maintaining a well-organized warehouse environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:
  • Develop and implement effective inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation to ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Monitor inventory turnover and minimize excess or obsolete stock.
  • Receiving Operations:
  • Oversee the receiving team to ensure timely and accurate receipt of incoming goods.
  • Inspect received shipments for accuracy, damages, and quality, and resolve discrepancies with vendors as needed.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers to resolve any receiving-related issues.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse staff to achieve high performance and efficiency.
  • Create and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify areas for process improvement in inventory control and receiving operations.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall warehouse productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and resolve operational challenges.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to inventory transactions and receiving activities.
  • Generate regular reports on inventory levels, accuracy, and receiving performance.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Enforce safety protocols and compliance with relevant regulations in all warehouse activities.
  • Ensure that staff members are trained in proper handling and storage of inventory items.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred. Relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Proven experience in warehouse management, inventory control, and receiving operations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Proficient in using warehouse management systems and other relevant software.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Bilingual Preferred
