CHC of Snohomish County is Hiring an OB Hospitalist Physician - Per Diem Near Edmonds, WA

Salary Information: You'll receive a per diem rate of $2400.00 for a full twenty-four hour workday/shift. For workdays with less than twenty-four hours, you'll be compensated at a rate of $100.00 per hour.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Physician operates in a team with other clinic healthcare providers and support staff. The Physician provides medical care to all age groups in accordance with the State of Washington Department of Licensing and professional scope of practice. In addition, the Physician provides diagnostic and therapeutic medical services to CHC patients, while making reasonable and sound medical assessments and treatment plans. The Physician provides low risk obstetric care, including prenatal care, routine deliveries, and post partum care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel and Outlook.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual skills.
Education
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited School of Medicine or Osteopathy.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in area of practice (e.g., family practice, internal medicine, or pediatrics).

Preferred:

  • Education and training in specialized care such as family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and prenatal.

Experience

Preferred:

  • Not less than a 0.5 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) of patient care within field of training within the past year.
  • CPT-4 coding experience.
  • ICD-10 coding experience.
  • Healthcare information systems, such as electronic health record and practice management systems experience.
  • Experience in a multiple provider medical practice.
  • Working with low income, multi-ethnic populations.

Credentials

  • Physician license (MD/DO) with the State of Washington.
  • Board eligible/Board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) in Family Practice, Internal Medicine or Pediatrics. Board certification - must be obtained within one year from date of hire.
  • DEA controlled substances registration.
  • Hospital privileges - must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR/AED) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support for Healthcare Providers (ACLS) certification - must be obtained within 45 days of employment.
  • Successful completion of CHC’s credentialing and privileging review upon hire and recredentialing as appropriate.

Preferred:

  • Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO)

Other

  • Driver's license with the State of Washington.
  • Motor vehicle insurance liability policy, a certificate of deposit, or a liability bond to the required limits.

A. Job Specific Functions/Performance:

1. Provides medical care to all age groups in accordance with the State of Washington Department of Licensing and professional scope of practice.

2. Provides diagnostic and therapeutic medical services to CHC patients in the hospital maternal care units and newborn nursery. Makes reasonable and sound medical assessments and treatment plans.

3. Obtains complete medical history and physical data from patients presenting for care in the hospital maternal care units.

4. Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed in the hospital maternal care units and newborn nursery.

5. Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.

6. Identifies special needs of CHC patients and works with staff to address those needs.

7. Documents encounters in an accurate and timely manner. 

8. Provides therapeutic intervention following accepted guidelines or protocols.

9. Coordinates delivery of care with appropriate clinical staff to ensure quality of care is met.

10. Provides low risk obstetric care, including prenatal care, routine deliveries, and post partum care.

11. Adheres to attendance standards in order to perform the job functions for daily operations and/or continuity of patient care.
