General Description

The Lead Associate is an integral part of the General Store team. This is a full-time, benefited position. This
position is responsible for greeting customers, answering questions, taking orders, preparing, and serving
food and drinks, assisting guests with merchandise sales and questions, and maintaining a clean and
inviting retail space and food service space. This position also includes assisting the General Store Manager,
as needed, in the procurement and inventory processes for the store. This role will provide leadership and
training of other year-round and seasonal Associates. Shifts will vary and will include a mix of weekdays and
weekends. For emergency and inclement weather reporting, this position is considered essential.
Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering their questions, and
accepting orders and payments.
  • Prepares a variety of hot, iced, and blended drinks using espresso machine, commercial blender,
and other kitchen equipment.
  • Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, recipe cards, preparation
methods, quality standards and rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Works with staff to ensure a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, utensils,
and equipment, as well as in the retail space.
  • Stores and rotates perishable food products properly and in adherence with all food safety
regulations and guides associates in these practices.
  • Preparing/warming foods for consumption, such as sandwiches or baked goods.
• Assists General Store Manager in maintaining proper levels of all needed supplies and equipment.
  • Utilizes POS system and performs open and/or close procedures as needed.

  • Cleaning and restocking work and retail areas, emptying trash, and sanitizing equipment and
utensils.
  • Updating signage and displays to attract customers.
• Cultivates a team culture and helps to facilitate a fun, high-energy team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Inventory and Procurement

  • May assist General Store Manager with weekly F&B procurement and tracking.
  • Supports General Store Manager in various aspects of retail operations including receiving and
processing retail deliveries.
  • Assists in tracking and entering store inventory.
  • Plays lead role in replenishing merchandise and maintaining merchandise displays. Guides

associates in performing these functions.
Supervision

  • Leads the General Store Team in maintaining a clean and inviting retail and food and beverage
space and maintaining food safety standards.
  • Provides additional leadership and training for General Store Associate, both year-round and
seasonal.
  • Acting “Manager on Duty” when General Store Manager is not on site.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage safety standards.
  • Hands on experience with making high quality specialty coffee and tea drinks.
  • Basic math skills, experience receiving and processing credit cards a plus.
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to walk and bend and stand for extended periods.
  • Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A polite, engaging personality.
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Willingness to work as part of a high-energy, efficient team in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to General Store Manager

Supervises seasonal staff and acts as “manger on duty” when General Store Manager not on property.
Educational Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements

Duties require lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb stairs,
ladders as well as navigate the site which has a 200-foot elevation change.
