Chattanooga College Medical Dental and Technical Careers is Hiring a Director of Financial Aid Near Chattanooga, TN

Chattanooga College Medical Dental and Technical Careers is seeking an energetic Director of Financial Aid. The position is a remote position with a requirement of being on campus at least once a month and as needed for audits and accreditation visits. Chattanooga College MDTC is looking for the right candidate to help the institution during this time of growth.

Job Title: Director of Financial Aid

Overview:

As the Director of Financial Aid, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and compliant administration of financial aid programs within our institution. You will lead a team of financial aid representatives, oversee the processing of various types of financial aid, manage cash flow, and maintain compliance with all regulatory guidelines set forth by accrediting bodies, state authorities, and the Department of Education. Additionally, you will be responsible for accounts receivable management, audit oversight, and providing leadership within your department and the institution as a whole.

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance Management:

Ensure adherence to all Accreditor, State, and Department of Education regulatory guidelines related to financial aid programs.

Stay informed about changes in regulations and update policies and procedures accordingly.

Implement training programs for staff to ensure compliance awareness and understanding.

Team Leadership and Management:

Supervise and mentor financial aid representatives, providing guidance and support in their daily activities.

Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback for professional development.

Foster a collaborative and positive work environment within the financial aid department.

Financial Aid Processing:

Oversee the accurate and timely processing of Title IV funds, VA funds, State funds, and other financial aid programs.

Review and verify student eligibility for various aid programs.

Resolve complex financial aid issues and appeals.

Cash Management:

Develop and implement strategies for effective cash flow management.

Monitor disbursements and reconcile financial aid accounts.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial aid funds are utilized efficiently.

Accounts Receivable Management:

Manage accounts receivable related to tuition, fees, and other charges.

Implement collection strategies and oversee the resolution of delinquent accounts.

Coordinate with student services to provide financial counseling and support to students.

Audit Oversight:

Coordinate internal and external audits related to financial aid programs.

Ensure compliance with audit requirements and address any findings or recommendations.

Implement corrective actions as needed to mitigate risks and improve processes.

Leadership and Collaboration:

Serve as a leader within the institution, advocating for the importance of financial aid in supporting student success.

Collaborate with other departments, including admissions, registrar, and academic affairs, to streamline processes and improve the student experience.

Represent the institution at relevant conferences, workshops, and professional associations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

Minimum of [X] years of experience in financial aid administration, with demonstrated knowledge of Title IV regulations and other financial aid programs.

Strong understanding of compliance requirements and the ability to interpret complex regulatory guidelines.

Previous experience in team leadership and management, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in financial aid management systems and Microsoft Office suite.

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
