Manufacturing Training Specialist

As a CPI Manufacturing Training Specialist, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing innovative trainings to our employees and customers.

As a CPI Manufacturing Training Specialist you will be responsible for the development and delivery of cutting-edge new hire and ongoing trainings for all levels of the manufacturing facilities within Chatsworth, including content development, curriculum design, program coordination, LMS system administration to include but not limited to e-learning initiatives, pre and post-tests, and ongoing evaluations. Manages daily functions of site (assigned manufacturing facility) related training responsibilities to satisfy the training needs of the corporation and associates. Develop and deliver external trainings as necessary. Assist in building a world-class manufacturing training program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Design, develop and implement training for all levels within the production facility.
  2. Developing work instructions with the addition of training support.
  3. Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts in training development and delivery.
  4. Development of training materials pertinent to subject matter.
  5. Provide technical support and guidance to temporary staff who are delivering instructions such as internal SME’s or external facilitators.
  6. Maintain training records for all staff, including managing and maintaining e-learning system accounts.
  7. Maintain database of all internal and external partners to ensure smooth coordination of training times and spaces.
  8. Provide ad hoc procedural supervision, particularly during new program and staff onboarding phases.
  9. Assist with live monitoring of learning.
  10. Assist with analyzing pretest, post-test and evaluation data.
  11. Assist management with training matrices and training plans to include development and maintenance.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  2. Performs work that is directly related to the training manager but additionally fulfills training related requirements identified by direct operations manager.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS:

Core Competencies:

  • Deliver company training using proven techniques within learning development, incorporating multiple learning disciplines.
  • Be able to learn and administer company specific training programs and workshops to employees and managers.
  • At least two years of experience with curriculum and training development, including needs assessment and/or instructional design preferred.
  • Efficiency with information gathering.
  • Knowledge of core principles of adult learning theory.
  • Skill and ability to create and facilitate face-to-face and virtual learning.
  • Courteous, empathic and professional manner.
  • Strong communication skills to convey information clearly, accurately, and completely.
  • Demonstrated capability in project management.
  • Efficiency with time-management and multi-tasking.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
  • Ability to provide open and honest feedback.
  • Ability to work with software systems for delivery of training as well as company systems. (PowerPoint, Visio, LMS, etc.)

Technical Competencies:

  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • 2 Years direct experience in organizational development.
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer proficiency; Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
  • Project management – manages multiple, complex projects.
  • Knowledge of CA ETP a plus.
  • Excellent presentation skills.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

  • Office environment.
  • Walk up/down one flight of stairs.
  • Lift up to 25 lbs.
