Summary:
An Appearance Products (AP) Installer I, under the leadership of a designated Manager and /or
Supervisor, will support the process to satisfy new and current customer demands for Toyota vehicles by
providing the vehicles to dealers and customers that meet their demands. An AP Installer I will 1) prepare
vehicles for the installation of accessories and/or 2) install basic to mid-level complex accessories on new
vehicles. Accessories may include one or more of over fifty items such as: pin stripes,
dust deflector, wind deflector, side molding, door guards, wood appliqué, decals and more. Additionally,
an AP Installer I will move vehicles to designated areas inside and around the Appearance Products
building as well as utilize the Pick-to-Light system and computers to pick accessories to be installed.
Essential Functions
1. Timely, consistent and predictable attendance
2. Safely drive all makes and models of Toyota vehicles to various locations during the day, night
and inclement weather
3. Work safely; comply with all safety rules, maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area; use shop
equipment and tools safely; and wear required personal protective equipment. Report all
accidents immediately
4. Meet and exceed productivity and quality requirements
5. Comply with all policy, procedures, job instructions, and safety rules
6. Maintain and properly safeguard all shop tools and equipment
7. Utilize the Pick-to-Light system and computers to pick accessories to be installed
8. Prepare vehicles for installations of accessories and/or install basic to mid-level complex
accessories correctly and efficiently on new vehicles
9. Secure correct parts and properly record receipt
10. Use proper equipment and installation techniques
11. Scan bar codes to record installation and relieve parts inventory
12. Remove replaced parts or accessories; safeguard; turn in as required
13. Check completed work to ensure that it meets quality standards
14. Place appropriate printed materials inside specific vehicles
15. Park vehicles properly; comply with Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) Audit Criteria when parking
vehicles in load lines: maintain prescribed parking distances, place keys as prescribed, etc.
16. Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies
and procedures.
17. Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.
18. Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus zero to three years related experience
and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

? Able to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets
? Able to read, understand and comply with assigned area’s job instructions
? Able to communicate effectively – orally and/or in writing
? Understand basic accessory shop productivity measurements

? Demonstrate safe, professional level driving skills
? Understand TMS Audit Criteria.
? Demonstrates the ability to carry out responsibilities in accordance with GST policies, TMSoperating standards, and applicable federal and state laws
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend written and oral English instructions, short
correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively discuss
information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the
organization.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved
written or oral instruction

Physical Requirements:

peripheral vision, depth perception, night vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters
while performing the essential responsibilities of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the
associate is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or
airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work
environment is usually loud.
