Escrow Officer Job Position

Charter Title & Escrow is seeking an escrow officer with at least 3 years of experience. The ideal candidate will be successful by possessing the ability to perform closings in stressful situations and making the process seamless for our customers. Additionally, we are looking for a candidate who is passionate about customer service within real estate transactions, is internally motivated, and prefers a hands-off management style. Escrow Officers are responsible for overseeing the growth of our residential escrow department including but not limited to: managing residential files, growing our residential customer base, being an active participant of our escrow team and marketing on behalf of our company.

Charter Title & Escrow is Lincoln’s largest locally owned title insurance agency and has been growing in the Lincoln market since 2006. We have over 150 years combined experience in the title insurance industry. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

· Grow our customer base in the city of Lincoln by providing the best closing experience in the city of Lincoln and via traditional marketing methods

· Market on behalf of Charter Title & Escrow

· Manage the entire real estate closing process for our residential transactions, including compliance with real estate contracts, lender instructions, title requirements, company requirements and other written instructions

· Be a member of our residential escrow team and do any other tasks as assigned as needed

· Fill in for other closing agents for seller signings and/or closings

REAL ESTATE TRANSACTIONAL KNOWLEDGE

· Understand the escrow process to determine what steps need to be taken to transfer the title of property pursuant to the conditions called for in the real estate contract, title commitment and lender instructions

· Collaborate with title department to resolve title issues such as legal descriptions, easements, lot splits, vesting, all tax liens, abstracts of judgments, bankruptcies, boundary disputes, encroachments, list pendants, etc.

· Prepare all closing documents necessary to ensure title insurance is issued at closing

· Oversee the issuance of checks, bills and statements, receipts, and any other documents needed to ensure customer satisfaction

· Secure all documents (corrective and others) that may be required for the issuance of title insurance

· Prior to disbursement, confirm all funds are collected, all appropriate documents are checked for accuracy, signatures are collected, and acknowledgements and legal descriptions are correct

· Seek ways for our company to become more paperless and grow electronically as technology advances

CUSTOMER SERVICE

· Conduct closing with customers, realtor, lenders, and attorneys

· Assist real estate agents and clients with closing related questions

· When needed, delegate work to and manage work of escrow assistants in the real estate transaction process

MARKETING

· Manage and develop client relationships to ensure future real estate closing transactions

· Market new business and make calls on current and prospective clients

· Correspond with lenders, builders, real estate agents and attorneys as needed

BENEFITS

· Salary: $50,000-$75,000/Year DOE and book of business
