The Charlotte Plantscapes team is growing!

Since 1983, Charlotte Plantscapes, Inc., has served the Charlotte Metro region in providing interior tropical plantscape design and maintenance as well as exterior containers for commercial, hospitality, and residential clients.

Maintenance of all commercial accounts on a weekly basis. Performing any necessary tasks to ensure the sustained quality and attractiveness of plants.

We have immediate openings for 2 horticultural technicians (part-time, see details below) to water and maintain interior tropical plants and flowers and some exterior container gardens throughout the various businesses and residences we serve in the Charlotte area. The job requires that you keep plants clean, pruned, and watered, while evaluating any pest issues/prevention.

We are looking for applicants who are hard working, self-motivated, dependable, and have excellent attention to detail.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Watering of plants and flowers
• Pruning, cleaning, and trimming to maintain good quality plant material on accounts at all times
• Rotation of plants to ensure even growth
• Treatment with pesticide/fungicide as needed to maintain a good quality plant material on accounts at all times
• Fertilization as needed
• Proper positioning of plants
• Cleaning decorative containers as needed
• Adding grow media and replacing moss as needed
• Ensure area is clean and water free after maintenance

Qualifications:

• Ability to lift/carry 32lbs and do physical work such as carrying water buckets, hauling hoses, climbing ladders & be on your feet for most of the day.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation as this job involves traveling to multiple locations daily in the Charlotte area. (Company compensates for mileage)
• Must be at least 21 and have a high school diploma or GED. We will consider work experience instead of diploma.
• Must have the ability to communicate professionally with customers and other associates. Some customer interaction is to be expected on most accounts.
• Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test for hire.
• Horticulture experience or familiarity with plants and or gardening a plus.
• Knowledge of plant names, varieties, and growing conditions required for each plant preferred.
• Only local candidates will be considered.

Job Types: Part-time (M-Th, 25- 30 hours)

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
