Project Manager: Vision of Excellent Teaching Initiative | 23-24 

Job Posting Date: January 17, 2023

Application Closing Date: January 31, 2023

Role Date: February 12 - May 3, 2024 (approximately 25 hours)

Compensation: Stipend Pay - $625

Responsibilities:

This Charlotte Lab School stipend position will have the following responsibilities in support of Lab’s vision:

  • Create survey and poll the staff and other stakeholders to strategically develop a committee to design a Vision of Excellent Teaching @ Lab document, Walkthrough Tool and Coaching Tools (and any additional corresponding documents);
  • Schedule time for committee work sessions and provide attachment with goals and expected products for each session; 
  • Calendar key meetings and deliverables and regularly update the task force with reminders and action steps regarding the meeting schedule;
  • Regularly meet with the Heads of C&P and Instruction to provide the needed resources to inform the committee's work as well as accompanying tools for organizing and documenting ideas, processes and final plans (e.g., Google Drive location, calendar of meeting dates & agendas);
  • Schedule time and surveys for all stakeholders outside of the committee (e.g. entire staff, relevant board members, families) to provide feedback on the vision document;
  • Work with the Heads of C&P and Instruction to incorporate the feedback and revisions into the final version of the Vision for Excellent Teaching @ Lab, Walkthrough Tool and Coaching Tool documents.

Deliverables:

At the end of this time period, the Project Manager will have completed the following deliverables:

  • Created entry survey to poll staff and stakeholders to gauge interest in the committee;
  • Reviewed the survey results for interest, ability and availability;
  • Created schedule of committee meetings and emailed the committee members with pre-work and follow-up;
  • Taken notes during committee meetings and worked notes into edits on the document;
  • Created feedback survey to poll stakeholders on the draft of the Vision for Excellent Teaching @ Lab, Walkthrough Tool and Coaching Tool documents;
  • Consolidated notes and feedback from the documents into the final drafts.

Candidate MUST:

  • Show clear commitment to, belief in, and alignment with the Lab vision, mission, and values;
  • Be interested in the task at hand - creating a stronger vision for excellent teaching;
  • Have strong project management and organizational skills;
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Be able/willing to learn how to fulfill the responsibilities listed above.

In addition, the Lab School Hiring Committee will look favorably upon candidates who:
