Charlotte Behavioral Health Care is Hiring a Health Information Supervisor Near Punta Gorda, FL

  • Supervise and lead the health information management team, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure efficient departmental operations. This position requires on-site presence.
  • Oversee the maintenance, storage, and retrieval of patient behavioral health records in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Manage medical records requests and ensure exceptional customer service for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of health information data, implementing quality control measures and conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with Medicaid, Medicare, CARF, AHCA, licensure, and other relevant 3rd party payer documentation standards.
  • Remain current with healthcare regulations, privacy laws (such as HIPAA and 42CFR Part 2) and industry standards. Ensure the organization’s compliance with these regulations and agency policy and procedure.
  • Leverage health information management systems and electronic medical record (EMR) to streamline processes and enhance data management efficiency.
  • Provide training to health information staff on the use of technology, compliance requirements, and best practices in record management.
  • Work closely with other departments, including billing and information technology (IT), to ensure seamless integration of health information management processes.
  • Identify and address potential risks related to health information management, implementing measures to mitigate risks and protect patient information.
  • Implement and oversee initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of health information management processes.
  • As a member of the Compliance Team, actively participate in the review of compliance concerns, collaborate with team members to conduct thorough assessments, and assist in identifying and documenting findings related to compliance issues and determining root causes.
  • Graduate of an accredited Health Information Management program and/or equivalent years of Health Information Management experiences.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in health information management, with a progressive increase in responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health regulations and standards related to health information management.
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Proficiency in health information management systems and EMR.
  • Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, while adhering to agency policies and procedures.
  • Ability to adapt to technological advancements in the field.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, in collaboration with other community partners.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations and display appropriate work demeanor and boundaries.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk, using a computer, and performing administrative tasks.
  • Occasional lifting of files, documents, or office supplies, typically not exceeding 20 pounds.
  • Able to safety operate a motor vehicle in all driving conditions as this position may require travel to attend conferences, training sessions, or visit other campuses.
  • Ability to pass a level II Background clearance and drug test.
  • Valid FL drivers’ license, insurance, and safe driving record.
  • Dependable transportation (registered, safe operating conditions, etc.).
