Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) Health System is Hiring a Senior Residency Program Specialist -- Medical Education -- Memorial-WVU Near Charleston, WV

Job Summary

Under limited supervision of the Program Director and the Office of Graduate Medical Education, provides professional support and management of a graduate medical education residency program at an advanced level to ensure adherence to accreditation and institutional requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manages and coordinates the daily operations and logistics of the residency program including, but not limited to, oversight of routine administrative paperwork; management of program and resident filing systems; establishing and implementing policy and procedures; implementing practices required of current licensure, immigration, accreditation, and institutional policies; maintaining system databases; managing New Innovations processes i.e. evaluations, schedules, conferences; attending relevant program, institutional or outside committee/conferences; and managing program resident orientation, recruitment and annual graduation activities. Senior coordinator may be expected to assist in the orientation of new program coordinators by fielding questions, providing training on New Innovations and other system processes. Senior coordinator may also provide some oversight in the day to day work of entry level program coordinators especially when housed in the same department. • Serves as assistant to the program director by scheduling meetings, responding to routine inquiries/correspondence, keeping abreast of accreditation/institutional policy changes, helping manage program calendars, and maintaining oversight of residency program budget. • Maintaining and preparing paperwork required of outside organizations including, but not limited to, accrediting institutions, state licensing boards, specialty boards, immigration authorities, and training verification institutions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.Competency StatementMust demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist.Common Duties and Responsibilities(Essential duties common to all positions)1. Maintain and document all applicable required education.2. Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations.3. Comply with the company's attendance policy.4. Perform work in accordance with all departmental pay practices and scheduling policies, including but not limited to, overtime, various shift work, and on-call situations.7. Perform work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic plan of the organization.8. Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable.9. Perform related duties as assigned.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Business, Education, or Health Services Administration

Experience: 5 - 7 years relevant experience in administration, healthcare or other closely related experience or 3 years residency program coordinator experience
