The Schwab Center for Financial Research (SCFR) is at the center of advice for Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. (CS&Co). We lead all aspects of the selection of investments and ongoing monitoring of the Mutual Fund OneSource Select List®, Managed Account Select®, ETF Select List®, Schwab Personalized Portfolio Builder, product market commentary, and other investment advice for our clients and financial consultants. SCFR is distinguished by our ability to effectively combine both meticulous quantitative work with manager profiling and market analysis in our research.

This position is at the intersection of technology and research and will primarily support the quantitative investment due diligence work for the selection of mutual funds, ETFs, and alternative investments for Schwab clients using proprietary models and rigorous quantitative analysis.

Key job responsibilities will include:

Support model production runs from end-to-end including, but not limited to, the following:

• Review data collection and perform quality assurance testing.
• Perform model execution and output validation prior to publication.
• Summarize and report outcomes analysis; including data visualizations.
• Assist with records archiving and maintaining general operating procedures.

Assist with ongoing maintenance of technical infrastructure including, but not limited to, the following:

• Perform data acquisition, staging, cleaning, and analysis.
• Identify and implement operational processes and productivity improvements to enhance controls.
• Develop new methods and functions and make updates to code base.
• Troubleshoot code issues and implement bug fixes.

Collaborate on model research, development, and implementation efforts including, but not limited to, the following:

• Assess model accuracy and validate research results.
• Engage in governance requirements and oversight activities.
• Perform sensitivity analysis on model inputs and outputs.
• Execute and document validations of model releases.

What you have

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 2 years of relevant work experience
• Experience working in Python, R, MATLAB or SQL

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in financial research or financial data management
• Experience working in Git, Jira, Bitbucket/GitHub, Tableau, Alteryx
• Outstanding analytical skills, research capabilities, and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize competing and shifting deadlines
• Strong ability to manage relationships with internal business partners

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
