VP of Finance Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Director/VP of Finance at the Charles River Center. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong financial background, capable of overseeing and optimizing our financial operations to support our mission. Preference given to candidates with experience in contracting with the Department of Developmental Services & HUD.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the business office personnel (5) and job functions.
• Develop and implement financial strategies in alignment with organizational goals.
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and accounting principles.
• Manage cash flow, investments, and financial risk effectively.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Lead the development and monitoring of annual budgets.
• Maintain relationships with external auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
• Manage grant financial reporting and compliance.
• Participate in strategic planning discussions to contribute financial expertise.
• Provide analysis, insight, and direction on issues related to financial accounting, management reporting, external reporting, and internal controls.
• Manage all areas of financial accounting, reporting analysis, comparing budget projections and forecasts to actual results, and making appropriate recommendations to senior management for course corrections.
• Participate in and oversee the accuracy and timeliness of monthly and annual financial statements.
• Create a positive work environment by modeling appropriate behavior and treating all employees with respect, empathy, and dignity.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
• 10 years of total finance/accounting experience required; experience in contracting with state agencies is required.
• Proven experience in financial leadership roles, preferably within the non-profit sector.
• Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and compliance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Mastery of Excel is required.
• Commitment to the mission and values of the non-profit organization.
