Position Summary
The Licensed Behavior Analyst is responsible for conducting Functional Behavior Assessments, developing behavior intervention plans, and overseeing the implementation of behavior modification programs for individuals with behavioral and developmental disorders. The Behavior Analyst will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including teachers, therapists, MTSS teams, counselors, administrators, and caregivers, to provide comprehensive and effective interventions tailored to each individual's needs. This role involves collecting and interpreting behavioral data, monitoring behavior change, and providing technical, systemic behavior support and training to direct service providers in a Pre K- 12 setting. This position reports directly to the Dean of Students Services.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related field.
Certification/Licencing
  • Current licensure as a Behavior Analyst (e.gBCBA - Board Certified Behavior Analyst) in the state of practice.
Experience
  • Conducting functional behavior assessments and developing behavior intervention plans.
  • Implementation of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and techniques.
  • Effectively collaborating with students, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Attending and presenting behavior data at IEP, SST, 504, or manifestation meetings.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other behavioral challenges in a school or clinical setting.
  • Working in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of referrals and caseloads.
  • Three (3) years of experience working with students with disabilities in an educational or clinical setting is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors.
  • Collect and analyze data to track behavior patterns and progress over time.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to gather comprehensive assessment information.
  • Develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on assessment findings and evidence-based practices.
  • Design behavior modification programs targeting specific skill acquisition and behavior reduction goals.
  • Provide training and support to teachers and other team members on implementing behavior plans effectively.
  • Deliver direct behavior therapy services to students, utilizing applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles.
  • Implement behavior reduction techniques to decrease maladaptive behaviors and promote positive alternatives.
  • Monitor client progress through ongoing data collection and analysis.
  • Adjust intervention strategies based on observed outcomes and individual needs.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to modify intervention plans as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including assessment data, behavior intervention plans, and student response to interventions.
  • Prepare written reports summarizing assessment findings, recommendations, and progress updates.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards for documentation and reporting.
  • Participate in IEP, 504, SST, and Manifestation Determination meetings to discuss student progress, plans, and coordination of services.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and adherence to professional standards of behavior analysis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and academy administration.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of typical and atypical early childhood development.
  • Conducting functional behavior assessments and developing behavior intervention plans.
  • Implementation of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and techniques.
  • Effectively collaborating with students, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Attending and presenting behavior data at IEP, SST, 504, or manifestation meetings.
  • Familiarity with BCBA strategies and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize and problem-solve
  • Capability to lift a student weighing up to 50 pounds unaided, or to conduct physical restraints with assistance for students weighing over 50 pounds.
  • Proficient in written and oral communication.
  • Understanding of applied behavior analysis methodologies.
  • Ability to conduct functional behavioral assessments and mitigate severe behavior.
  • Capacity to evaluate evidence-based treatments and interventions.
  • Self-directed and capable of working independently and with teams.
Compensation
  • Work Days: 200
  • Salary Range: $58,316 - $122,411
