This is a job to be considered by individuals considering the field of education and working with urban youth!We are in search of an ILA/teaching partner who is looking to become a member of a strong collaborative team that is shaping the future of a new charter school. We are seeking a paraprofessional who shares the background and cultural experiences of diverse urban youth and can contribute in a relevant and meaningful way to our discussions and development of academic support services. Major duties include:-Working as a teaching support staff member alongside a certified classroom teacher in a primary content area- Providing individual organizational or guided academic support to students in need of more 1:1 or small group instruction-Participating in culture building and team building activities within the school and classroom- demonstrating a level of professionalism in communication and collaboration among members of the school community, including students, families and colleagues. - Supporting teachers by participating in instructional opportunities by using appropriate strategies and techniques developed by teachers and other professional staff to support individual student needs.
