ChapCare is Hiring a Pediatrician Near Pasadena, CA

As amember of the ChapCare Medical Group, the Primary Care Physician providescontinuing, comprehensive health wellness, preventive and medical care toentire families regardless of sex, age, or type of problem.The PCP follows established departmentalpolicies, procedures and objectives; continuous quality improvement objectives;and other control standards.The PCP directsambulatory care and services for registered ChapCare patients. In addition, thePCP directs and supervises other health care providers and nonmedicalpersonnel, as well as, participates in quality assurance, quality improvement,peer review and special projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages and maintains a program of comprehensivehealth for the patients, to include preventive medicine, behavioral sciences,and community health.
  • Prepares and reviews medical histories andobtains data through interviews.
  • Examines patients, formulates diagnostic plans,defines and orders required diagnostic testing. Interprets examination findingsand test results, and implements treatment plans.
  • Prescribes and assesses effectiveness ofpharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate forpatient medical conditions.
  • Determines need for consultation and assists inmedical care and treatment provided at the direction of other specialists.
  • Participate in other care procedures accordingto training and demonstrated ability.
  • Provide supportive and definitive care topatients with primary care appropriate medical conditions, based on documentedand demonstrated proficiency.
  • Manages primary care services, formulates plansand procedures for operating outpatient services directed toward healthmaintenance as patient’s primary care provider.
  • Actively participates in the Family PracticeClinic by supervising assigned medical staff, nurses, and other medicaltechnicians as assigned.
  • Determines needs for, and advises on kind and quantityof, medical supplies and equipment if applicable.
  • Responsible for coordinating medical care withinternal and external medical specialties as needed.
  • Ability to supervise, advise, train clinicalprofessionals and/or students in area of expertise, as well as, a variety ofhealth-related topics, including first-aid measures, basic and advanced healthcare maintenance.

Qualifications

Education:

  • For entry into thisspecialty, a doctor of medicine or a doctor of pediatrics degree from anapproved school of medicine or pediatrics.
  • Completion of aresidency in family practice acceptable to the State of California forlicensure or board certification by the American Board of Family Practice,American Academy of Pediatrics, American Board of Medical Specialties, AmericanBoard of Physician Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association Bureauof Osteopathic Specialties is mandatory.

Experience:

  • Practice in afederally qualified health center or like practice serving diverse uninsuredand underserved populations.
  • Demonstrated abilityto work both independently and in a team environment.

Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Fulfillment ofeducation requirement satisfies this requirement.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • English language fluency, additional language capability stronglydesired.

Hours per day or week:

  • A minimum of 32 hours per week.After hours call coverage may be institutedas needed.
