Basic Function: The Healthcare Project Manager (HPM) works with the Chief Financial/Operations Officer, Total QA/QI Director and Information Technology Manager overall healthcare project management function, providing leadership, coordination, interoperability and optimization of third party applications (Epic, Dentrix, Appia, CareMessage etc.…). Scope of responsibly encompasses all settings of the organization. The HPM will have intimate familiarity with the key elements of the corporate strategic plan. The HPM oversee training, Information Analysis and Reporting to assist clinical and management decision support; Member of the intra-operative clinical and management team in developing Policies and Procedures. The HPM has detailed understanding and can skillfully use the techniques of system design, re-engineering, project management, quality improvement, outcomes measurement, and functional analysis.
Core Responsibilities:
- Supports the accomplishment of ChapCare strategic plans to achieve high impact and significant improvements in organizational performance.
- Performs under minimal supervision with accountability for specific goals/objectives. Works with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operations Officer, Chief Financial Officer, IT department, and others to develop performance improvement targets for quality, service, and efficiency of the organization.
- Is highly organized & able to manage an operating budget.
- Analyzing business needs and works with stakeholders to research, propose, and deliver cost-effective solutions.
- Educating, documenting, and providing thought leadership for the introduction of change management on adopted products and process development.
- Manages client expectations and collaborates with the client to acquire needed information and direction on their projects.
- Serving as a member of the QA/QI and IT leadership team to improve support, function and overall quality of processes within the organization.
- Overall healthcare project management function, providing leadership, coordination, interoperability and optimization of third-party EMR (Electronic Medical Records) applications (Epic, Dentrix, Appia, CareMessage, etc.) processes and functions.
- Works with the IT department towards managing the development and maintenance of technical or company project management policies and procedures in compliance with the goals of the business.
- Provides internal project management services such as initiating and managing the planning and risk analysis/management.
- Assigns project managers and/or other resources to projects or programs.
- Ensures project requirements are achieved in high quality and timely fashion within budget guidelines.
- Actively influences an integrated approach to project management.
- Monitors compliance and consistency with lifecycle, architectural, and enterprise standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in health sciences, business, healthcare administration, health information management, or management engineering.
Education Experience Desired: Master's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Work Experience required: Five years of work experience in healthcare, two years of progressively responsible management & project management experience.
Work Experience Desired: Specific healthcare work experience in quality improvement, systems design, or project management, including Epic EMR.

Amount of travel and any other special conditions or requirements
- A moderate amount of local and/or out of town travel may be required.
Hours per day or week
- A minimum of 40 hours per week is required.
