PositionAccountabilities and Performance Standards:

• Provides chair-sidesupport for dental clinic
• Assists dentistduring patient procedures
• Ensures thatappropriate equipment and supplies are prepared
• Oversees andcoordinates patient flow throughout the clinic visit
• Demonstratesproficiency and participates in continuing education programs specific toproviding care for all ages, as required
• Provides triagingof patients and telephone advice developed protocols and nurse judgment
• Takesradiographic films and study model impressions
• Demonstratesknowledge in procedures for taking films and impressions
• Keeps equipmentin working order
• Sterilizes andarranges all dental instruments for tray set-ups and mobile cabinets
• Ensures thatappropriate equipment and supplies are prepared
• Disinfectsequipment according to established infection control and safety procedures
• Participates ineducational programs, in-service meetings and outreach
• Cooperates withother personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employeerelations
• Demonstratesattitude of cooperation and professionalism
• Maintainsharmonious relationship with unit/co-worker, providing support and assistanceto co-workers to ensure quality patient care

EducationRequirement:

• High Schooldiploma
• Certified as aDental Assistant from an organized education program
• CPR Certified
• Dental Radiationand Safety Compliance Certificate
• Basic computerskills
