This position reports to the Plant Site Manager, and directly manages the Production and Maintenance and departments. Those direct reports include the Process Operations Supervisor, Mechanical Operations Supervisor, and the Maintenance Supervisor. The incumbent in this position is responsible for the overall Production and Maintenance activities of the plant. These activities include ensuring the employee’s safe work practices, the production of highest quality product while achieving the annual production volume budget, protecting of the environment, minimizing equipment downtime, the planning and execution of PM maintenance, process troubleshooting, equipment repair, and employee training. This position must work with and support all other plant departments and personnel.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Manages and oversees the general operation and maintenance of the plant to ensure that the annual production volume budget is met.
Ø Coordinates trouble shooting, including the initiation of root cause analyses and the implementation of the appropriate solutions to ensure stable operating conditions of the plant, while maintaining necessary quality specifications.
Ø Establishes, monitors, records and controls the flow of production and maintenance activities, including PM activities and special projects; includes interfacing with those who have related responsibilities.
Ø Interfaces, assists, and solves problems in activities as required with the Quality and Care department, Process Manager, Engineering department, and the Administrative department.
Ø Continuously improves the safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.
Ø Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to achieve the established company goals, annual and monthly plan.
Ø Communicates and assists with the engineering activities of the plant to support operation and new growth while establishing procedures, as necessary.
Ø Plans, implements, and controls long and short-term plans; uses concepts and methods necessary to ensure safe, smooth, and efficient operation of the entire manufacturing process.
Ø Responsible for reviewing all completed (new or revised) documents such as SOPs and checklists; acts as the second approver in the generation of these documents.
Ø Communicates with Process and Engineering Managers and parent company’s technical support staff concerning production processes, changing set points, data reviews, abnormal operating conditions, etc.
Ø Cooperates and shares all necessary information with other sites within the NS group.
Ø Coordinates with ASPMD for information sharing related to the following items – all related PM work, all measurement records, and reports on all major equipment problems.
Ø Shares and assists with the implementation of all Kaizen projects, as decided by the ASPMD.
Ø Develop and manage spending against the annual PM and Daily Maintenance budgets.
Ø Responsible for Production and Maintenance Expense budget planning and control.
Ø Directly supervises Maintenance and Production Departments, including administrative duties such as evaluation of employees.
Ø Responsible for developing skills of Maintenance and Production employees through an appropriate training plan.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
Ø Bachelor’s degree of Science in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
Ø 5 years’ experience in direct supervision of Manufacturing personnel at a chemical plant.
Ø Excellent trouble shooting skills and the ability to use a logical approach to problem solving.
Ø Experience in computerized process operation, including automatic instrumentation equipment.
Ø Knowledge of Quality Assurance in a process plant.
Ø Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ø A full understanding of the ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
Ø Considerable ability to use computer software such as MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Power Point.
Ø General office equipment including phones, fax, copier, personal computer (MS Word, Excel, & Outlook), SAP R/3, KRONOS, etc.
