We are seeking a BCBA who demonstrates a strong passion for making a meaningful impact on the lives of children diagnosed withASD by empowering them to unlock their full potential and achieve success.

The BCBA at Channel ABA plays a critical role in providing clinical oversight and guidance in the delivery of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy services. The BCBA is responsible for conducting assessments, developing behavior intervention plans, supervising implementation of ABA treatment, and monitoring client progress. The BCBA also collaborates with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure effective treatment outcomes.

Responsibilities

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Conduct comprehensive functional behavior assessments to identify the underlying factors contributing to challenging behaviors and/or skill deficits.

  • Analyze assessment data to develop a clear understanding of the client's needs, strengths, and areas for intervention.

  • Use evidence-based assessment tools and methods to inform treatment planning and guide decision-making.

Treatment Planning and Implementation:

  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, that include evidence- based interventions and clearly outlined behavior reduction and skill acquisition goals.

  • Collaborate with the treatment team, including behavior technicians and other professionals, to ensure proper implementation of the strategies and interventions outlined in the treatment plan.

  • Provide training and supervision to ensure fidelity of treatment implementation and adherence to best practices.

Ongoing Monitoring and Analysis:

  • Regularly collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make data- driven decisions to modify treatment plans as necessary.

  • Monitor client progress, track behavior change, and adjust interventions to optimize outcomes.

  • Conduct periodic re-assessments to assess progress, update treatment goals, and adjust strategies based on new information.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals involved in the client's care to ensure a coordinated and integrated approach.

  • Provide guidance and support to families in implementing antecedent and consequence strategies at home and in other natural settings.

  • Maintain open and effective communication with all stakeholders, including regular progress updates, sharing assessment results, and discussing treatment plans.

Supervision and Training:

  • Provide supervision and training to behavior technicians and other staff members working under the BCBA's guidance.

  • Conduct regular meetings and trainings to ensure proper understanding and implementation of ABA principles, strategies, and ethical guidelines.

  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for staff, promoting their professional growth and development.

Professional Development and Ethical Conduct:

  • Stay informed about the latest research, advancements, and best practices in the field of ABA.

  • Adhere to the ethical guidelines and professional standards set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities, such as attending conferences, workshops, and continuing education courses.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and licensed in the state of Maryland

  • Master's degree in behavior analysis, psychology, special education, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of behavior analytic principles, methodologies, and interventions.

  • Experience conducting comprehensive functional behavior assessments and developing behavior intervention plans and skill acquisition goals.

  • Ability to administer and interpret a variety of skills-based assessments such as VBMAPP, PEAK, AFLS, ABLLS-R.

  • Excellent data collection and analysis skills.

  • Experience with online data collection programs preferred.

  • Ability to provide effective supervision, training, and support to staff members.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with clients, families, and professionals.

  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines in the field of ABA.

  • Must submit to a federal and state background check.

  • Ability to sit on the floor, kneel, crawl, squat, run, or stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to push, pull, lift, move, and carry up to 35 lbs.

  • Reliable mode of transportation and ability to travel up to 45 minutes.

  • Current first aid and CPR certifications and willingness to complete background checks.
