Change Parts, Inc. is Hiring an Operations Manager Near Ludington, MI

SUMMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages and directs the overall manufacturing activities including machine, assembly, rebuild, service and operations support (purchasing and materials management including shipping, receiving and stockroom/inventory management, database/scheduling, quality and safety). Ensure products are manufactured to the design drawings and are delivered to the customer on time and complete. Ensure development of staff and organization to meet or exceed annual budget targets and long range vision.

Works with and directs the Customer Management Team (CMT) as it pertains to the pricing/quoting process, customer database and links. Assists in transforming the CMT work flows and drives process improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Operations:

o Ability to ensure scheduled jobs and personnel are appropriate to deliver on-time and complete customer solutions

o Ability to forecast shipping projections and work with departments up stream to pull up jobs as needed to ensure shipping targets are met.

o Ability to learn and apply lean principals to improve efficiencies in operations

o Ability to develop and modify practices and processes to improve effectiveness and efficiencies

o Ability to research and define root cause of poor quality and rework; minimizing future rework

o Ability to ensure safety and quality teams are appropriately encouraged and supported

o Ability to manage and direct the assembly, rebuild and service supervisors to ensure overall on-time and quality parts are being manufactured

o Ability to work with engineering, sales, CMT’s and customers as needed to aid in the management of ongoing projects and to communicate questions, delays or updates.

o Ability to assess capital needs and develop and present business justifications for purchases

o Ability to assess staff, define appropriate training requirements and conduct annual reviews

o Ability to develop appropriate department metrics and report upon progress against those metrics

o Ability to manage and mitigate cost increases while driving cost savings within operations

o Ability to work with purchasing to better identify costing / purchasing issues as we are buying, and to spot check vendor quotes.

o Ability to investigate and approve inventory adjustments as needed.

o Ability to oversee and manage the ongoing used parts check-in process.

· Customer Management Team (CMT):

o Ability to manage and direct the CMT in regards to the pricing/quoting process

o Ability to learn and make improvements to the internal processes within the CMT

o Ability to assist with the management and updating of all pricing models.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job supervises the operations and operations support staff and assists with the management of the customer support team. Manager is responsible for overall direction, coordination, motivation and periodic evaluations of associates including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, directing, appraising performance, addressing concerns and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; plus a minimum of four years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER / PC SKILLS

Associate must possess literacy in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Mail / Exchange, as well as, an ability to learn and promote the development of our ERP system. Prior experience with an ERP system is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, interpret and apply technical data, drawings and reports to the manufacture of change parts as would be expected within the packaging and operations profession. Ability to effectively respond to inquiries from customers, vendors, other associates and members of the packaging, design and business community.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply common mathematical concepts required, including concepts such as addition, subtract, division, multiplication, discounts, interest, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical operational situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect appropriate data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

A professional certification is not required.
