Responsibilities

Join us a Patient Care Tech who will perform patient related care tasks. Assists patients with activities of daily living and provides direct patient care under supervision of Nurse. Obtains and records patient vital signs. Monitors and records daily intake and output. Obtains specimens, including non-invasive body fluids and blood specimens. Performs EKGs and blood glucose monitoring. Monitors and performs actions to decrease patient length of stay including but not limited to: performing timely designated discharge duties, and communicating discharge information to appropriate staff. Assists Physician/Nurse with diagnostic tests, clinical procedures, and other tasks as requested. Communicates patient needs and observed/reported changes in patient condition to supervising Nurse or Physician. Documents all interactions in patient's medical record.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Current CNA certification in good standing
  • Certified Nursing Assistant - Basic, or previous military medic experience, or seeking degree in nursing, or previous healthcare experience 
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current American Heart Association BLS card
  • Knowledgeable in medical terminology

Preferred:

  • Previous experience with a patient care module or personal computer
