Chandler Industries is Hiring an Outside Services Coordinator Near Blaine, MN

Chandler Industries, a precision machining and sheet metal fabricating company with divisions in Minnesota and Mexico is looking for an Outside Services Coordinator to join our team! This position will be based out of our brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in Blaine, MN!

In this new position, you will be responsible for placing purchase orders, managing relationships with outside service vendors, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services, maintaining quality standards, while meeting cost objectives

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Outside Vendor (OSV) purchasing, inter-company purchasing, Hardware/MRO purchasing.
  • Review, analyze, and mitigate Purchase Price Variances (PPVs).
  • Operates within contracts/agreements, pricing, payment terms and manages day-to-day vendor relations.
  • Responsible for resolving assigned supplier related problems; SCARS, Scorecard Distribution/Resolution, etc.
  • Controls and communicates status of WIP inventory at suppliers, disposing of obsolete inventory and maintaining system data accordingly.
  • Participates in supplier on-boarding, transitions, and relationship development.
  • Assist Quality Engineers (QE’s) with customer flow-downs and technical data packages (TDPs).
  • Interfaces with Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning and Quality to ensure timely throughput and proper prioritization of materials received.
  • Coordinates with Quality to accommodate Defective Material Reports (DMRs) and quality issues in the production schedule when necessary.
  • Participate in the disposition of non-conforming material to assure proper inventory management.
  • Monitors, facilitates, and communicates daily material requirements and flow, to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Support process adherence and data accuracy within ERP system for OSV forecast/execution, replenishment and inventory planning and optimization within the scope of Sales, Inventory, Operations, Planning (SIOP).
  • Assist in evaluating key performance metrics – including on-time to release; on-time delivery; past-due PO's; and days on hand inventory.
  • Work regularly with OSV's on supplier capacity analysis, to meet customer demands and production goals to ensure maximum production velocity and efficiency.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in vendor management or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or machining environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)System.
  • Critical reasoning skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with vendors and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with vendor management software.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively within the organization and collaborate with internal customers to determine requirements and facilitate the flow of product through the processing steps.
  • Ability to interpret operating procedures, work instructions, company policies and procedures.
  • Attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive; takes initiative.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All employees must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Additional Skills and Experience (Preferred):

  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with a quality management system such as ISO 9000 or AS9100.
  • Prior experience in scheduling, inventory control, and/or purchasing.
