We operate from three facilities in Jacksonville, FL and serve customers located throughout the US.

Job Summary :

Chancey Metals, LLC is looking to add a reliable Skilled Laborer to our team! In this position, you will complete a variety of construction tasks.

It will be your job to ensure that those tasks are completed as efficiently and effectively as possible. The work that you do each day can change based on our needs, but you should expect to spend some time using different power tools and assisting with heavy machinery.

It’s essential that you’re able to perform all of these tasks without violating our safety procedures. We’re looking for candidates who can carry out many different skilled labor tasks with minimal supervision.

We’d also prefer candidates who have previous experience in a similar role.

Work Status : Full-Time

FLSA Status : Hourly Non-Exempt

Supervisory Responsibilities :

None

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Utilize a variety of hand and power tools
• Assist with the operation of heavy machinery
• Complete many different construction tasks, including drilling, painting, and moving materials from one place to another
• Follow all local, state, and federal health and safety standards
• Commit to continually improving your skills through on-the-job training

Required Skills / Abilities :

• Ability to use a wide variety of tools
• Capable of working well with minimal supervision
• Willingness to learn and be part of a team

Education and Experience :

• High school diploma, GED, or relevant coursework
• 1-year Skilled Laborer experience (Preferred)

Work Environment :

• Working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, you will be walking, standing, and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighing up to, or more than, 50 lbs.
• Due to a large variety of job duties, certain duties also may involve a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy machinery.

The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually moderate to high.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear, and protective clothing.
• Work may be performed in cold and / or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty.
• At times, the ability to work overtime also MAY be required. The ability to perform these requirements is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
