The Team

The Data Science team at CZI sits within the Technology organization to build and scale software products designed to bring equity in public education. This team acts as an innovation powerhouse that identifies product opportunities, builds prototypes of possible solutions, and measures the impact of these product solutions. 

To achieve this, the team works hand-in-hand with other technology and program teams, comprising engineers, designers, researchers, operators, and product managers.

What You'll Do

• Study the problem area and identify product opportunities
• Work with a cross-functional team to come up with product solutions
• Build models, algorithms, and/or prototypes of product solutions
• Design and implement plans to measure the impact of solutions
• Build data infrastructure to monitor product performance

What You'll Bring

• Desire to improve the public education system through technology 
• Ability to facilitate decision-making with data and in the absence of it
• Comfort with ambiguity while working on 0-1 products
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, R and Statistics
• Excellent story telling skills

The Redwood City, CA base pay range for this role is $190,000 - $285,000. New hires are typically hired into the lower portion of the range, enabling employee growth in the range over time. Actual placement in range is based on job-related skills and experience, as evaluated throughout the interview process. Pay ranges outside Redwood City are adjusted based on cost of labor in each respective geographical market.
