The Opportunity

The Chan Zuckerberg Biohub is seeking outstanding early-career scientists and engineers to join and participate in the launch of the Chicago Biohub by continuing their training as Postdoctoral Fellows. Individuals should have a background in an area of science or engineering relevant to the development of Instrumented Tissues and their application to inflammation and immunity. Areas of interest include Bioelectronics, Biosensors, Tissue Models of Inflammation, Spatial Proteomics and Metabolomics, Functional Genomics and Immune Cell Engineering.

CZ Biohub Postdoctoral Fellows will actively participate in (including hands-on in the laboratory) a generously funded team conducting innovative and impactful research. Postdoctoral Fellows will continue their training as scientific researchers embedded in dynamic teams focused on new engineered systems for biological measurements. The Postdoctoral Fellows will collaborate on projects aligned with the Biohub’s scientific mission to understand the fundamental mechanisms underlying disease and to develop new technologies that will lead to actionable diagnostics and effective therapies. Candidates should have a demonstrated track record of achievement and a commitment to work collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment. • Be a highly motivated researcher who will continue their scientific training and contribute to the innovative, vigorous and collaborative research program aligned with the mission of CZ Biohub
• Actively contribute as a team member to our efforts to develop instrumented tissues
• Work collaboratively and actively engage with colleagues throughout the Biohub to maintain our values of scholarly excellence, innovation, open communication, hands-on hacking, and partnership and opportunity
• Communicate progress and results with colleagues
• Publish and disseminate impactful findings and the products of your research as preprints (medRxiv, bioRxiv) and/or software repositories (e.g. Github)

The Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Networkrequires all employees, contractors, and interns, regardless of work location or type of role, to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, including a booster vaccine dose, if eligible, by their start date.
