Accepting Applications for Animal Medical Care Staff

Champaign County Humane Society is now accepting applications for a full-time position on our Medical Care staff. Qualified candidates will have experience handling dogs and cats in a veterinary setting. (Experience with other small animals, a plus, but not required)

This position involves examination and monitoring of animals for health and wellness; administering treatments and medications to shelter animals; animal restraint; and accurate data entry/computer skills.

Applicants should be personable and possess good communication skills (in person and in writing), as this position requires effective communication about animal health with the Shelter Veterinarian, other staff members, volunteers, interns, and members of the public. Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail are also essential qualities for success on the Medical Staff.

Full time employee benefits include paid vacation, holiday comp time, an employee health insurance plan, and a Simple IRA plan. Starting pay: $15.50/hour

Some weekend, evening, and holiday hours will be required.
