Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team. As a Forklift Operator in our wholesale distributor warehouse, you will be responsible for operating forklift trucks and other material handling equipment to facilitate the movement, storage, and loading/unloading of products. Your primary goal will be to ensure the safe and timely handling of goods. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will be crucial in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, stack, load, or unload products and materials in the warehouse using best practices and safety guidelines
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper stacking and securing of products
- Use a warehouse management system to track inventory and locate items
- Conductng visual inspectons on incoming and outgoing products for damage, discrepancies, or quality issues - notfying supervisors of any problems and following proper procedures for rejecting damaged goods
- Build palletized loads from computer-generated load sheets
- Must be trained to drive a forklift in accordance with OSHA standards
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating the forklift - this includes performing daily forklift inspections, wearing appropriate PPE, and ensuring proper loading and stacking techniques to prevent accidents or damage
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Gradute or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or distribution center setting
- Valid forklift certification/license
- Ability to safely lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Flexibility to work different shifts as needed
