Join our team of educators with a passion for impacting young people in our community. We have Teacher and Teacher Assistant openings at our main campus in Brainerd to work with school-aged children (up to age 12) after school and while school is out. This position works in a classroom setting under the direction of the Executive and Associate Director. Part-time and Full-time positions are available.
Schedule: 2pm-6:30pm while Hamilton County Schools are in session; Full time hours while school is out on holiday/break/summer. Position can be full time year round with float coverage during the school day in our younger classrooms.
Pay: Starts at $11/hour with high school diploma/GED and no experience; goes up with education and experience working with young children.

Chambliss Center for Children is a private, local non-profit organization in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dating back to 1872, the agency exists to preserve family unity and to help prevent the dependency, neglect, abuse, and delinquency of children by responding to the community's child care needs. We accomplish this through two major programs: 1. Extended Child Care: We offer early childhood education and child care to children ages 6 weeks through 12 years of age. Parents must be working or in school to use our program, but their fees are based on income, making it affordable to everyone. Our ma...in campus is open 24 hours per day, weekends, and holidays, to allow parents to work any hours or shifts needed. A Three Star rating from the State gives us the highest quality program possible. We have five off-site child care programs, operating similar programs, without being open 24 hours. 2. Residential Care: We care for children who have been removed from their homes and are in the custody of the State of Tennessee. They have been abused, abandoned, neglected, or come through the juvenile court system. Children are primarily ages 6-18 and can either reside in our Shelter or in our foster homes throughout the city. The goal is to reunite the children with their families or to find a suitable adoptive placement. Our programs serve almost 700 children per day, of all races, ages, and economic backgrounds throughout the city.
