The Chambersburg YMCA is seeking energetic, reliable Camp Counselors to provide a safe and memorable experience for the children of our community. The ideal Camp Counselor will be flexible, patient, a good role model, and have a passion for working with and empowering children.

Some Camp Counselor responsibilities include:

• Ensure the supervision, safety and security of the children at all times.
• Plan for and facilitate activities for children.
• Supervise and engage on field trips and during all activities to ensure the experience is safe and enjoyable.
• Mediate any conflicts between campers, encouraging positive, healthy relationships and interactions.
• Communicate with parents regarding activities and behaviors.

Some Camp Counselor skills include:

• Experience working with children preferred.
• Ability to relate well to individuals of diverse ages and backgrounds.
• Ability to engage in physical activity (i.e. hiking, walking, and generally being mobile with the children).
• Applicants must obtain required clearances (Child Abuse Clearance, State Police Clearance, FBI Background Check).

Pay: $10.80 - $12.60 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Experience with Children: 1 year (Preferred)
