The Role:

The Commercial Waterproofing Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, timely estimates and contract negotiation on potential projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services. Strong organizational and time management skills are a must in this position as you will be asked to perform daily tasks with a high level of attention to detail and maintain deadlines.

Job Description:

• Selling Chamberlin services to general contractors
• Make site visits to collect bidding information
• Build and maintain the relationship with current and potential clients
• Review/prepare proposed project bids in accordance with company bidding procedures, with essential overall cost accuracy
• Review contracts for accuracy in price and scope
• Prepare submittal packages
• Prepare a notice of award for manufacturer guarantees
• Prepare change order estimates for approval
• Prepare purchase orders request
• Complete project closeout documents
• Attend construction pre-bid, pre-con, and post-con meetings as needed
• Participate in pre-job meetings with the handoff from estimating to project management on assigned projects
• Assist in reviewing and negotiating contract terms
• Assist in positioning Chamberlin as the subcontractor of choice for Commercial Waterproofing by cultivating customer relationships during the management of projects.
• Responsibilities include direct communication with staff, management, customers, and vendors
• Review and analyze budget reports and prepare and develop budget modifications and recommendations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Be familiar with Estimating Software
• An understanding of general construction
• Ability to analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation
• Knowledge of various Roof systems, materials, construction processes design, code compliance and manufacturers requirements for warranty
• Knowledge to inspect and ensure attention to detail and quality
• Positive attitude, Self-motivated, Ambitious, and a Team player
• Build and develop productive working relationships with other department managers and management personnel
• Able to understand complex problems and make decisions to benefit everyone as much as possible
• Ability to read and understand construction documents and blueprints

Education:

• Four-year college degree preferred in Construction Science, Construction Management, Construction Engineering or Business majors preferred, but not limited to any other Four-year college degree.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
