We’re looking to bring on a VP of Finance to the Chamber Media team!

Reporting to the President, you’ll be a vital part of the executive team and will play a central role in growing the business. You will drive key growth initiatives cross-functionally and manage our financial modeling/revenue planning. Your job will be to understand the levers for revenue and growth and to apply financial analysis, market research, and creativity to accelerate our business.

We’ve had recent and fast growth, allowing for the opportunity in this role to establish sound and solid processes. Unlike more mature businesses, you’ll have the opportunity to be intimately involved in the details while making high-impact strategic decisions, leading a team, and designing cross-functional processes from scratch in conjunction with the other senior managers in the company.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on yet strategic leader who can oversee all aspects of financial planning and analysis to support future growth. Bringing a strong analytical toolset and proven experience leading the planning and sales productivity activities of a larger complex company is desired.

What you’ll do:

• Lead all financial planning, forecasting, accounting, and reporting within the company and to the Board, owning the underlying financial forecast models, systems, and tools.
• Develop and monitor critical success metrics, and communicate actionable insights to relevant stakeholders
• Conduct financial analyses and provide strategic recommendations on operational and financial initiatives as you collaborate with leadership across the company to provide analytical rigor and evaluate strategic initiatives and key decision processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, financial and operational controls, and information systems in support of routine analysis and proper recordation/accumulation of financial reporting
• Respond to information requests with thorough, organized, and fact-based work product supporting key observations, assumptions, and conclusions.
• Drive alignment on KPIs to measure business results and evaluate the health of the business
• Ensure Company’s books and records are accurate and in compliance with GAAP and local, state, and federal laws
• Ensure all periodic reports are prepared and distributed in a timely and accurate manner
• Strong understanding and ability to implement effective internal control environment
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with all counterparts to understand potential issues and mobilize against opportunities
• Own budget vs. actual review and reporting at department and company level
• Record and share minutes for board meetings and senior management meetings.
• Lead the study and analysis of profitability costing throughout the company.

What we’re looking for:

• 10 years of experience in a finance-related role, including time leading a finance function
• 5 years of experience in a leadership role managing teams
• Bachelor's degree, at minimum, in Finance or Accounting
• Strong preference for CPA, CFA, and/or MBA qualifications and strong accounting skills.
• Experience leading a business through an audit.
• Experience implementing internal controls.
• Experience identifying and building strategic initiatives from strategy through execution at an early-stage through growth-stage business
• Strong analytical and financial modeling abilities and ability to effectively communicate complex findings, both orally and in written/presentation form
• Experience working with venture capital or private equity, including experience working and directly interacting with a Board of Directors as well as lenders.
• The desire to work in a startup/growth company is strongly preferred
• Experience growing young companies to more mature entities preferred, including identifying and executing better processes.
• Ability to use standard software applications (Quickbooks Online, Microsoft Office, Payment Processors, Google Workspace, Slack, etc.,); and the aptitude to learn new technology quickly.
• Have proven ability to think strategically and plan effectively; be detailed, results-oriented, while managing multiple tasks against deadlines
• Deep Familiarity with agency business models, particularly in marketing services and especially in areas of billings and revenue recognition.
• Excellent presentation and writing skills and the ability to clearly communicate messages that link business issues, financial results, and strategy at the executive level
• Team-oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
