IT Support Technician

As an IT Specialist, you will support and enhance our school's technological infrastructure. You'll ensure our virtual learning environments run smoothly, develop new tech solutions, and provide technical support to staff and students. Initially, you'll work closely with ChallengeU staff and IT professionals to familiarize yourself with our systems and processes.

Effective communication, collaboration, and a proactive problem-solving approach are essential. Experience with online learning platforms and supporting at-risk youth through technology is highly beneficial. Join us and feel the excitement and commitment to making a difference in your community!

This is a full-time, year-round position with a flexible work schedule.

Job description :

The technician is responsible for managing and supporting our technology infrastructure, focusing on enhancing the educational experience for both students and teachers through efficient technology solutions.

Responsibilities:

Device Management:

  • Manage and maintain inventory of all school devices, including Macbooks and Chromebooks.
  • Ensure devices are up to date with the latest software and functioning optimally for educational use.
  • Distribute Chromebooks to students in accordance with student lists and administration guidelines.

Technical Support:

  • Provide prompt and effective technical support to students and staff.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Google Workspace applications, connectivity problems, and hardware malfunctions.

Help Desk Operations:

  • Utilize Hubspot Help Desk to track, prioritize, and resolve support tickets.
  • Maintain a high level of service quality and timely response.

System Administration:

  • Administer and manage user accounts and access control in Google Workspace and other educational platforms.
  • Software Deployment.
  • Use Jamf to deploy, configure, and manage applications on Macbooks, ensuring all devices comply with school policies and educational standards.
  • Use Google Workspace to deploy, configure, and manage applications on Chromebooks, ensuring all devices comply with school policies and educational standards.

Training and Guidance:

  • Assist in training staff and students on new technologies and platforms.
  • Provide guidance and best practices for utilizing technology resources effectively.

Security and Compliance:

  • Monitor devices and systems to ensure they are secure and meet compliance requirements with educational standards and data protection regulations.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as an IT Support Technician or similar role, preferably in an educational environment.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Google Workspace, Help Desk solutions, Jamf, MacOS and extensive experience with Chromebooks required.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical users.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality support to enhance teaching and learning through technology.

Qualities Required:

  • Preference for an ability to communicate effectively in English in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Discipline of keeping documentation up to date

Work Location:

  • The work location is in Mason, and remote work is possible based on supervisor approval.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year based on experience
