Chaddock is Hiring a Special Education Teacher Near Quincy, IL

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and implement instruction that is aligned to the Common Core Standards and meets the needs of all students in the classroom. 
  • Maintain up-to-date lesson and unit plans for all courses.
  • Establish a classroom environment that ensures each student’s safety, security, and academic success.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized learning environment.
  • Develop and implement the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for all students assigned to caseload. This includes scheduling the meeting in accordance with mandatory timelines, completing all components of the IEP document, facilitating the meeting, and ensuring that all necessary stakeholders are informed of the plan.
  • Complete all necessary reports (Report Cards, IEP updates, Quarterly Progress Reports) in a timely manner as requested by the Director of Education or designee.
  • Collaborate effectively and regularly with students’ parents/guardians and ensure that they are informed of their child’s academic and behavioral progress.
  • Serve on school committees, facilitate clubs, and participate in the school improvement process as requested by the Supervisor or designee.
  • Guide and direct classroom paraprofessional’s duties and responsibilities in order to maximize student engagement and achievement.
  • Administer assessments as necessary to guide and direct instruction.
  • If necessary, teachers may be assigned to provide instruction during summer school in accordance with the Summer School Staffing Plan.
  • As exempt employees, it is the responsibility of educators to attend occasional after school events such as Meet the Teacher Night, Parent/Teacher Conferences, etc.
  • Chaddock reserves the right to revise or change job duties and responsibilities from particular jobs and to assign other duties as necessary.
