We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Architectural Team from either Colonie, NY; Syracuse, NY; Rochester, NY; or Parsippany, NJ.

The Structural Engineer conducts the design development, implementation, and technical analysis of technical various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. At CHA, our Structural Engineer works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.

This position monitors progress and performance against the project plan and acts immediately to resolve operational problems and minimize delays, as well as recognizes technical discrepancies in analytical results, and makes appropriate corrections. They are expected to be able to identify, develop, and gather technical resources necessary to complete assignments.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Concentration required
  • FE certification required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience is required
  • Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of the respective engineering field as well as proven ability to practically apply it in a professional environment
  • Proficient in engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Knowledge of RAM products, Tekla, and Enercalc software is a plus
  • Understands QA/QC procedures
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist more senior staff
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
  • Participation in a professional engineering society/organization is preferred
  • Ability to travel (~10% of the time)
