We are currently seeking a Resident Engineer – Project Manager to join our Aviation – Planning & Programming Team at a client site administering the construction of a six-story parking structure near our office in Knoxville, TN or from any other CHA office location. If working from another CHA office, the individual in this role must be able to travel to Knoxville about 50% of the time.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA provides aviation master planning and a full complement of related services. We have the capability to provide airport planning, development and programming design, obstruction evaluation, and project cost estimating.

The Resident Engineer - Project Manager is a senior level position that is responsible for overseeing construction inspection activities. They coordinate large construction projects, maintain project documentation and records, as well as oversee construction inspection field staff. The Resident Engineer – Project Manager will work with the project designer as necessary, chair all project related meetings, and review contractor pay quantities for accuracy.

REQUIREMENTS

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field required
• NICET Level IV certification or PE preferred
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Minimum10 years' construction inspection experience required
• Vertical construction experience required
• Parking garage construction administration experience required
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel preferred
• Able to work independently
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to understand and interpret client’s contracts
• Excellent knowledge of and reinforces the company’s and client’s standards
• Demonstrates a thorough knowledge about the construction industry
• Must be able to navigate through a construction site
• Attention to detail, strong leadership skills (ability to manage/oversee one or two inspectors)
