Sr Market Data Technical Analyst - Capital Markets
Position Description
CGI is seeking to hire a Senior Market Data Analyst. In this role you'll be a key player in supporting our Clients' trading platform upgrade. This is a Full-Time position and is based on-site in Charlotte, NC or New York, NY.
Your expertise will drive critical decisions, and you'll collaborate with traders, risk managers, and technology teams.
Your future duties and responsibilities
As a Senior Market Data Analyst supporting a financial trading system upgrade, your role involves several critical responsibilities:
Data Collection and Analysis: You'll collect relevant market data from various sources, including financial instruments like stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. Your analysis will inform decision-making during the system upgrade.
Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial reports that serve as summary information for managers. These reports highlight trends, insights, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to market data.
Forward-Thinking Forecasting: Based on financial trends research, create forward-thinking forecasts. These predictions help stakeholders anticipate market movements and make informed decisions.
Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with traders, business analysts, and IT teams. Understand their requirements and ensure that market data integration aligns with the trading system upgrade.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Fixed Income Market Data Structure: In-depth understanding of fixed income market data structures, including bond pricing, yield curves, and credit spreads.
Financial Calculations: Proficiency in financial calculations, such as converting yield to price and a solid grasp of spread calculations.
Level I and Level II Protocol: Deep knowledge of Level I and Level II market data protocols, including nuances related to liquidity providers (LP), electronic communication networks (ECN), and alternative trading systems (ATS).
TREP Infrastructure: Familiarity with TREP (Thomson Reuters Enterprise Platform) infrastructure, including DACS (Data Access and Control System) and OpenDACS.
Market Data Understanding: Expertise in handling various types of market data, including aggregated, consolidated, and montage books.
Required Technical Skills:
Deep Java Expertise: Profound knowledge of Java, including low-latency techniques (memory maps, ring buffers, thread pinning, and cache line consistency).
Distributed Memory Fabric: Extensive experience with distributed memory fabric technologies.
Messaging Systems: Proficiency in messaging systems (JMS or native).
Network Protocols: Experience with raw TCP/IP and UDP/Multicast, preferably with reliable multicast implementations.
Spring, Gradle, and Docker: Understanding of Spring framework, Gradle build tool, and Docker containerization.
Relational Databases: Familiarity with relational databases (preferably Postgres or Oracle).
Linux Scripting and Troubleshooting: Highly skilled in Linux scripting, troubleshooting, and host tuning.
Chromium Engines and Web Technologies: Experience with Chromium engines, HTML5, and Angular or React JavaScript libraries.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
Desired Skills:
Risk Understanding: Knowledge of risk metrics such as DV01 (dollar value of a basis point) and CR01 (credit risk sensitivity) and their implications.
Inventory Positioning Strategies: Understanding of strategies used to position inventory in specific sectors based on market conditions.
Micro-Market Structures: Insight into micro-market structures and areas commonly exploited by algorithmic trading partners.
Bloomberg B-Pipe: Familiarity with Bloomberg B-Pipe data feeds and their usage.
Regulatory Knowledge: Awareness of regulatory organizations impacting financial markets.
Additional Programming Languages: Experience with C/C , Rust, or Python.
Java Unsafe Memory Access: Familiarity with Java Unsafe memory access model.
DevOps Skills: Exposure to Kubernetes configuration and Jenkins scripting.
Big Data Technologies: Preferably hands-on experience with Hadoop (PIG or Hive).
NoSQL Databases: Knowledge of NoSQL databases (including MongoDB).
Tick Databases and Streaming: Understanding of tick databases and real-time market data streaming.
Complex Event Processing: Exposure to complex event processing frameworks.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,800 - $228,100
