Java Developer
Position Description
CGI is looking for a Java Developer.This position is located in our Pittsburgh, PA or Cleveland, Ohio office, however a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Candidate must have an agile mindset and should have 6 Years of good hands on with Java development.
Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle and should include the below skillsets
Programming language: Its a must have for Java, or Python, we'd really like Both, and if they have any Java Script and Java Script Framework (angular, react, vue, vite, etc) that's a cherry on top.
Databases: Must have SQL / Microsoft SQL experience. Would be very nice to have MongoDB/non relational xp
- General Tech: Microservice Archetecture, REST api archetecture,
- Unit Testing Experience: Have to have written unit tests in some framework, be it JUnit, or any of the plethora of JS frameworks, or Python frameworks. Understanding of Test Driven Development or Shift Left is nice.
Other: CI/CD isn't mandatory, but it's a big bonus if they've worked with Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Openshift.
Write well designed, testable, efficient code
Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
Prepare and produce releases of software components
Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review
Highly effective written and verbal communication skills

Proven hands-on Software Development experience
Proven working experience in Java development
Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms
Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc)
Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
Experience in the Spring Framework
Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Knowledge of Java build tools
Experience with Java EE components
Experience with Java Web frameworks
Experience using Java testing tools for finished code
Knowledge of the use of Java application containers

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,800-$165,200
